About LM Bateman & Co.
Beginnings
From being a teenage salesman at Gush & Dent, Melvyn Bateman gathered six friends and took the first step into building his own manufacturing unit. Since the company's conception in 1979, Batemans have built up a pedigree of product strength and design quality that is respected by the industry and is the delight of their customers. Working from a 10-acre site in Staffordshire moorlands and an 18-acre distribution depot in Devon, Batemans offer unique products, lasting strength and finish – and of course true pedigree.
Competitive Prices
The farming world is evolving and so is the way the manufacturing industry is serving it. Commodity items can be bought from third-world countries that shadow our British made products, and their low labour costs challenge us in our efforts to keep prices competitive. But our top-quality product range is unassailable.
Record of Excellence
With our unequalled design knowledge and experience, we at Bateman have a team of on-farm consultants that can survey, design, develop and build exactly what is desired. We have over 25 years in the business, creating such successful handling and feeding units as Bakewell, Brecon, Truro and Carmarthen cattle markets; fantastic new ventures at John Pennys, Rawdon, Leeds Investment, Mr and Mrs Timmis's wonderful new layout at Basschurch, Salop; and one of the best set-ups in the agricultural world, at Ashley Kings Developments, Holbeach.
